On Set Staffing Services operates as a production-side staffing and representation service within the film, television, and commercial industry. Our role is to support productions by sourcing, coordinating, and managing on-set personnel in accordance with standard industry practices.

 

When individuals express interest in working as background performers or on-set talent, we take time to explain the realities of this type of work clearly and honestly. Background work is not guaranteed, opportunities can be infrequent, and for most people this type of work is occasional rather than a primary source of income. Many individuals participate because they enjoy the experience and the opportunity to be on set, while a smaller number may work more frequently depending on availability, experience, and production demand. These expectations are communicated upfront so individuals can make informed decisions.

 

All casting and booking decisions are ultimately made by casting directors and production teams. On Set Staffing Services does not control final selections. Each project has unique needs, and the number of people required can vary significantly. Some productions may require only a small number of background performers, while larger productions may require dozens or more. Selection is based solely on production requirements at the time of booking.

 

On Set Staffing Services does not charge upfront fees to be considered for work or representation. We operate on a commission basis that aligns with standard industry practices. Commissions are earned only after work has been completed and the performer has been paid. There are no fees for auditions, mandatory photos, or mandatory training. We do not sale or endorse courses, instructors or photographers.

 

To operate efficiently and maintain clear communication, we use widely recognized third-party industry platforms and tools. These tools help manage submissions, scheduling, communication, job visibility, and payment tracking. Examples of commonly used platforms in the industry include Casting Workbook, Global Casting Network, Breakdown Express, and Actors Access. Any members who choose to outsource one of these platforms in addition to our services must do so at their own personal expense.

Use of these tools is recommended because they help maintain organization and efficiency, but individuals may choose which platforms, if any, they wish to use.

 

Our focus is on transparency, realistic expectations, and professional operations. We believe that clear communication and industry-standard processes protect both productions and the people we work with. On Set Staffing Services earns income only after work has been completed and paid, and we remain committed to operating ethically and professionally within the entertainment industry.
